Poem by Taylor M. Wilson
I witnessed the mountains give way before the stars,
and only I remained.
In vast plains void of purpose
my life persisted.
I knew none but myself,
and even of that I am unsure.
But the sun still glowed upon the horizon,
and it remained a beautiful sight.
As the state of such a thing was certain,
my own became irrelevant.
A silent mind befell me
for none had meaning.
Desire had drifted
and senses been taken.
Memories became present
with no perception of time.
That I could enjoy rest before the end of all things,
as they continued into eternity
With no want for conclusion
my conviction remained.
