Within Being/Of Creation

Where once stood before me a single door,

Forbidden yet left ajar,

Became walls of an eternal city,

Which crumbled and fell.

I stepped beyond their rubble and met into a place barren and void. Something of light was cast upon endless horizon and when once it was curse just to remain, I wandered unending amongst the decaying plains.

After time had lapsed and I felt no strain, I saw a reflection of my curse remained. Desperate I feel unto my knees and clawed the dry dusts of the Earth, and as skin left me I wetted the lands red, and further my bones nurtured the depths.

From my marrow I sensed, so long alone, new life was given birth. With tears I withdrew, desperacy subsided, and raising I saw myself withered and decayed. I retreated into the horizons all fully aware of my parts which had been left in the world.

From me, the new beginnings, I, reached low into the roots of the earth, and searching for the blueprints of existence I gradually evolved as I returned to the surface. From my separations spread throughout the soil, upon my broach, became a single door.

Traveling still, my true self, I lapsed the Earth, and thus I returned to that desperate spot and before me found a sorry form who had grown complacent in his state. He saw and reached for me though I had no hands to give him. Being of me, of his existence I had command and so I removed all memory of his origin. Frantic as a beast upon his loss he cowered and curled beneath the door. I stepped aside him and pushing the great hinges I took leave, and looking back I saw his fearful eyes through the sliver which remained.

For some time I felt him grow in comfort, and too in awareness, and as he raised himself, so too did from his parts in the Earth come grand walls. I forgot his existence and left him with his curse to make of it what he will, and I carried on wandering.

At the edge of the void plains I found nothing. Arriving at nothing I found there sat a man, solemn alone at the boarder of existence. Approaching I saw in him no life, yet felt still a presence. I observed his figure and upon its base I saw its oneness with the Earth. As I stepped further his form became a throne, upon which I sat. With new command I was overcome, I saw all of times, and lives, and creations which I have lapsed. I saw countless cities in which myself and selves had built and remained, and growing with anger I tore down their walls in all an instant. Creation collapsed, exhausted, so did I decay. Truly I know I was nothing, and nothing remained.

this is so quiet and beautiful ❤ At the start, for some reason I was reminded of the faceless ghost in Haunting of Bly Manor, but the ending took another shape–something far more tragic and compelling ❤
